Spartak Pleven head coach Krasimir Bislimov expressed satisfaction with his team's display despite suffering a 0-2 defeat to Levski Sofia in the round of 16 of the Sesame Bulgarian Cup. The manager stated he was pleased with what he saw on the pitch, highlighting the effort and tactical execution of his players.
Bislimov explained that the pre-match strategy focused on playing reasonably and avoiding direct attempts to outplay the stronger opponent tactically. He noted that Spartak managed to create several scoring opportunities, suggesting that with better conversion, they could have troubled Levski even more.
Despite the positive aspects of the performance, the coach acknowledged ongoing issues with conceding easy goals, which he described as a significant problem in their league campaign. He emphasized the necessity for continued work and patience, particularly regarding the development of the younger footballers in the squad.
Although Bislimov regretted that the fixture was not hosted in Pleven, he highlighted the benefit of bringing a top-tier side like Levski to entertain the local supporters. He characterized the match as a valuable learning experience and a model for imitation for his young players facing a strong opposition.
