Răzvan Lucescu faces uncertainty regarding his position as head coach of Al-Sadd, according to reports from the Arab press. The Romanian manager has failed to secure a victory in his last four matches, a streak that has placed his future at the Qatari club in doubt.
The recent poor form includes significant defeats in the Asian Champions League, where Al-Sadd lost 0-3 to Esteghlal and 0-2 to Al-Hilal. Domestically, the team suffered a 3-2 loss to Al-Duhail, which prompted fans to express their anger and demand strict measures from the club's management to address the crisis.
Despite the recent struggles, Al-Sadd remains in second place in the Qatar league standings, sitting just two points behind the leader, Al-Rayyan. The team had started the season strongly under Lucescu, winning their first four matches comfortably before the current downturn in results.
One of the recent defeats came on October 9, when Al-Arabi beat Al-Sadd 3-2 in an away match. Al-Arabi coach Cosmin Contra described the victory as significant, stating that he had defeated the best team in Qatar from the last decade. Contra noted that he and Lucescu had spoken for about 15 minutes before the game.
