Liverpool secured a 2-1 away victory against Brentford in the Premier League, but the result was marred by injuries to key players. Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong both left the pitch with physical issues during the match.

Szoboszlai had returned to the starting lineup after missing the previous two matches. However, his comeback was short-lived as he was substituted in the 32nd minute due to injury.

Manager Andoni Iraola addressed the situation at a press conference held before the upcoming Champions League match against Villarreal. He confirmed that Szoboszlai’s injury is not new and stated that the player had not fully recovered from previous hamstring problems.

Iraola indicated that the current issue affects the same area as the problem from the previous week. He noted that the condition has not worsened but urged patience regarding the midfielder's full recovery.

Reports suggest the situation may be more severe than initially anticipated. The Evening Standard reported that Szoboszlai could be out for longer than expected, although no specific return date was provided.

There is uncertainty surrounding the exact duration of his absence. Some reports indicate Szoboszlai could miss up to six matches until the November international break. This potential list of absent games includes fixtures against Villarreal, Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal, Fenerbahce, and Crystal Palace.

Rousing the Kop questioned whether Szoboszlai can return before the international break after being substituted for hamstring problems against Brentford. The extent of the layoff remains a possibility rather than a confirmed fact.

Jeremie Frimpong also suffered an injury during the match. He entered the game at halftime but played only a few minutes before leaving the pitch.

Iraola stated that Frimpong suffered a new muscle injury in the second or third minute after entering the pitch. The manager believes it will be difficult for Frimpong to return before the November international break.
