Levadiakos officials have chosen to keep Elias Charalambous as head coach despite a difficult beginning to the season in Greece. The club considered dismissing the Cypriot manager but ultimately decided against it because they could not find a viable alternative. This decision comes after the team collected only two points from their first seven league matches.
The team sits second to last in the Greek league standings after seven rounds. Their record includes five defeats and two draws. The squad has failed to score any goals while conceding 11, resulting in a goal difference of minus 11. The two points were earned through scoreless draws against Kifisia and Volos.
Levadiakos suffered heavy losses against several top opponents during this period. They lost 4-0 to PAOK, 0-2 to Panathinaikos, 0-2 to Panetolikos, 0-1 to Olympiacos, and 2-0 to Iraklis. These results contributed to the current crisis at the club and the scrutiny placed on the coaching staff.
The squad features three Romanian players: Octavian Popescu, Alexandru Pantea, and Adrian Şut. In the recent 0-0 draw against Volos, Popescu and Pantea started the match. Adrian Şut remained on the bench for that fixture. Popescu received a rating of 7.8 from Sofascore for his performance in that game.
Mihai Pintilii resigned from Levadiakos earlier this summer. He cited personal problems for his departure after being hired by Charalambous. Upon leaving, Pintilii stated that the players were suffering from a psychological block. He also noted a lack of concentration during official matches as a key issue within the squad.
Levadiakos is scheduled to play an away match against Asteras Tripolis in the upcoming weekend. Asteras Tripolis currently holds 11th place in the table with five points from seven rounds. This match presents an opportunity for Levadiakos to improve their standing under the continued leadership of Charalambous.
