Inter Milan secured their first points in the current European competition with a 1-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, ending a streak of two previous defeats. The decisive goal was scored by Carlos Augusto in the 78th minute, providing some relief from the pressure on head coach Cristian Chivu.

Despite the win, Italian media continued to analyze the team's performances critically. Journalists Sandro Sabatini and Nicolo Schira discussed the situation of the Nerazzurri on the podcast Scontro Diretto, where Sabatini suggested that Chivu faces significant challenges in managing the squad.

Sabatini expressed the impression that the dressing room is more intense and complicated than it appears from the outside. He alleged that two or three very good players hold excessive power over Chivu's decisions, specifically naming Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Alessandro Bastoni, and Federico Dimarco as influential figures.

The journalist also criticized the performance of Spence, noting that he has not demonstrated the expected level. Furthermore, Sabatini questioned the effectiveness of the club's summer transfer campaign, suggesting that the three recent signings may not have been the appropriate choices despite his earlier praise.

Currently, Inter sits in 21st place in the Champions League standings with three points accumulated after three rounds. The team managed by Chivu is set to face Feyenoord in their next European fixture, which will be played away on November 3.
