Gloria Bistrița has announced the termination of its collaboration with head coach Nicolae Grigore and his technical staff. The club confirmed that the partnership with Grigore, assistant Ionuț Mazilu, fitness trainer Andrei Tămași, and delegate Ciprian Petre has ended. The decision came after the team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Bacău in the previous round. Grigore had originally taken charge in September of the previous year, successfully guiding the team away from relegation during his first season. In the current campaign, Gloria occupies 12th place in the standings with 15 points accumulated after 10 rounds.
The club has already begun discussions to appoint a new head coach. Mihai Teja, the former FCSB manager, was initially approached but reportedly declined the offer from the Transylvanian side. This rejection meant Teja missed the opportunity to face his former club in the Romanian Cup, where Gloria is scheduled to host FCSB in a week. With Teja out of contention, the management has turned its attention to other candidates.
Viorel Moldovan, Eugen Neagoe, and Sebastian Moga are now on the shortlist for the vacant position. Moldovan represents a notable option despite having been out of coaching for five years, since his departure from Petrolul in 2021. The urgency for a new appointment is highlighted by the team's upcoming fixture, as Gloria is set to play against Dumbrăvița in two days.
