Former Romania international Liță Dumitru has publicly urged FCSB owner Gigi Becali not to sell striker Aymen Boutoutaou. Dumitru described the player as a genius who is comfortable using both feet, supporting the current coaching staff's desire to retain him. Dumitru, who scored 12 goals in 57 appearances for the national team and 47 goals in 213 matches for Steaua, backed coach Laurențiu Reghecampf’s vision for the squad. Reghecampf reportedly wants to keep Boutoutaou at the club at any cost.

The advice comes amid reports of a potential player swap between FCSB and Universitatea Craiova. Sources indicated that Becali and Craiova owner Mihai Rotaru had agreed in principle to exchange Boutoutaou for Steven Nsimba during the winter window. That reported deal failed for several unspecified reasons. Prior to this, Becali had offered 800,000 euro plus Boutoutaou to secure Nsimba, but the transfer collapsed because the forward did not wish to join Reghecampf’s team at that time.

Steven Nsimba has since signaled a change in stance regarding a move to FCSB. The Universitatea Craiova attacker stated on TikTok that negotiations for his transfer have reopened. When asked by a fan about the possibility of joining the Bucharest club, Nsimba gave an ambiguous response, noting that the outcome remained uncertain. Transfermarkt currently values the player at one million euro.

Nsimba has been productive for Universitatea Craiova this season, scoring four goals in nine Superliga României matches. He also added one goal in the Cupa României and another in four European fixtures. Despite these contributions, he was an unused substitute in the last four matches under coach Filipe Coelho.

Aymen Boutoutaou recently demonstrated his value to FCSB in a high-profile domestic fixture. He played a decisive role as FCSB defeated Rapid București 4-1 in a derby match. This performance underscores the arguments made by Dumitru and Reghecampf for keeping the striker within the squad.
