FCSB defender Siyabonga Ngezana underwent meniscus surgery in Rome. He will not return to play until the winter training camp.

Ngezana attended the FCSB match against Rapid at Arena Națională on 24 October 2026. The game was part of the Superliga schedule.

The defender was excluded from the FCSB squad for the Superliga fixture. This decision was due to his recovery from an injury sustained last season.

Ngezana, along with teammates Drăguș and Toma, was absent from the squad due to injuries. Laurențiu Reghecampf serves as the coach of FCSB.

During his visit to the stadium, Ngezana attempted to go onto the pitch. A steward initially stopped him because the staff member did not recognize him.

Reports indicate that Ngezana will likely not play for FCSB again until 2027. However, he could potentially feature in the Cupa României before then.

Ngezana has been an FCSB player since 2023. The club acquired him from Kaizer Chiefs.

He has recorded 106 matches, 3 goals, and 2 assists for FCSB. His current market value is estimated at 1.7 million euros.

The last match Ngezana played for FCSB was against Hermannstadt on 18 May 2026. That game ended in a 2-0 result.

Daniel Pancu is the coach of Rapid, the opponent FCSB faced on 24 October 2026.
