Dani Carvajal has signed a one-season contract with Getafe following his departure from Real Madrid in the summer of 2026. The move marks a new chapter for the veteran defender after a long tenure at the Spanish capital club.
Despite finalizing the agreement, Carvajal will not feature in Getafe’s immediate European fixtures. He is not included in the squad list submitted to UEFA for the Conference League match against Universitatea Craiova.
Reports from Marca indicate that Carvajal will earn a net salary of 1 million euros per year at Getafe. This figure represents a significant reduction from his previous earnings of 10 million euros at Real Madrid.
Spanish newspapers suggest that a direct call from Getafe coach Jose Bordalas played an essential role in securing the transfer. The personal approach by the manager appears to have been a key factor in Carvajal’s decision to join the club.
According to Marca, Carvajal is expected to share duties on the right flank with Kiko Femenía. This arrangement would see the two defenders rotating or competing for playing time in the defensive line.
Carvajal leaves Real Madrid with a highly decorated record. During his time at the club, he won 27 titles in 451 matches. His trophy cabinet includes six Champions League titles and four La Liga championships.
On the international stage, Carvajal has earned 51 caps for Spain. His national team achievements include winning Euro 2024 and the 2023 Nations League.
