Construction of the new Nicolae Dobrin stadium in Pitești is progressing, with structural components now visible on both stands. Pitești Mayor Cristian Gentea confirmed that beams for the first ring have been installed. He noted that progress is evident on a daily basis at the construction site.
Specific metrics indicate significant completion rates for foundational elements. The ground floor pillars are approximately 98 percent complete. Additionally, the slab located above the parking area is reported to be 80 percent realized.
The project is financed by the National Investment Company in partnership with the Pitești City Hall. The local authority is contributing 25 percent of the total investment. The total project value exceeds 374 million lei.
The construction contract itself is valued at approximately 372.86 million lei. This amount is equivalent to about 75 million euros. These figures define the primary financial scope of the building agreement.
The new stadium is projected to feature 15,200 covered seats. It is designed to meet UEFA Category 4 standards. This classification allows the venue to host high-level European competitions.
Environmental considerations are central to the design. The stadium is planned to operate exclusively on green energy during matches. This approach aims to reduce the carbon footprint of matchday operations.
The complex will include additional facilities beyond the main pitch. A parking lot with over 450 spaces is part of the plan. The site will also host facilities for boxing, judo, wrestling, and karate.
FC Argeș has been playing home matches in Mioveni. This arrangement followed the demolition of the old Nicolae Dobrin stadium. The new venue will eventually provide a permanent home for the club in Pitești.
Sports media estimates suggest the new arena could be completed by summer 2028. However, no exact inauguration date is currently confirmed. The timeline remains subject to the pace of ongoing construction work.
