CFR Cluj, UTA and Petrolul Ploiești risk point deductions due to financial irregularities identified during a monitoring period that ended on 30 June 2026. Reports indicate that penalties for these clubs could be dictated within a maximum of ten days from 27 October 2026.

CFR Cluj risks losing six points from its current total. The club sits in ninth place in the Superligă with 17 points after 13 rounds. Marius Șumudică is associated with the club in the context of these reported potential sanctions.

Petrolul Ploiești faces a variable penalty, with reports suggesting losses of four, six or eight points. The club is currently fourth in the table with 23 points after 13 rounds. Such a deduction could impact its play-off chances.

UTA is also among the clubs facing possible sanctions, though no specific point deduction number was indicated for the team. UTA currently occupies eighth place in the Superligă with 18 points after 13 rounds.

Petrolul Ploiești has additional legal and financial challenges. Vivi Răchită stated that firms requested the bankruptcy of the club. He alleged that approximately two million euros were cut and that not all players or firms accepted payment delays.

The club has problems with its reorganization plan related to insolvency. Its sports file at the Federation has issues because not all players and firms accepted payment deferrals. The deadline for approving Petrolul Ploiești's bankruptcy is 11 November.
