CFR Cluj head coach Marius Șumudică has outlined his expectations for the conclusion of the SuperLiga regular season, predicting which teams will secure places in the play-offs. The Romanian technician expressed confidence that Dinamo, Rapid, Craiova, U Cluj and FCSB will all qualify for the next stage of the competition.
Regarding the battle for the final positions, Șumudică highlighted Corvinul as the revelation of the season. The newly promoted side is currently level on points with CFR Cluj and sits just two points away from the play-off zone. The coach suggested that either Farul or Corvinul would be the next team to join the qualifying group.
While acknowledging that U Cluj and FCSB will compete for European cup spots, Șumudică dismissed their chances in the championship race. He stated that it is very difficult for FCSB to win the title easily, even if rivals such as Dinamo, Rapid and Craiova were to stumble. Instead, he believes the title fight will be decided among the top three teams.
Emphasizing the importance of position before the split, Șumudică noted that entering the play-offs with an advantage of three or four points is a significant benefit. His comments come as the league approaches the critical phase where teams vie for superior standings ahead of the championship decider.
