Andrei Prepeliță, who played for the club owned by Adrian Mititelu between 2007 and 2011, has disclosed that he missed a potential transfer to the German Bundesliga. The former captain stated that Mititelu blocked the move, preventing him from going abroad at a favorable age.

According to Prepeliță, the owner was known for tough negotiations and refusing offers for financial reasons. He described Mititelu as someone who strongly held onto his players and could not bear to see them leave the club.

Prepeliță noted that he was not the only player affected by this policy. He listed the Costea brothers, Dănănae, Bornescu, and Dorel Stoica as other talented players for whom there was interest, but whom Mititelu attempted to keep at the club.

The former midfielder claimed that these blocked transfers negatively impacted the team's morale and motivation. He suggested that knowing they had offers but could not leave made the players less driven on the pitch.

Prepeliță linked this lack of motivation to the team's performance, stating they barely avoided relegation the year after their Europa League exit. He believed this struggle occurred because players were aware of unfulfilled transfer opportunities.
