Andrei Borza has initiated legal proceedings against his former club Rapid regarding outstanding financial obligations. The player filed the dispute through the players' union AFAN rather than employing an individual lawyer. The case centers on claims for his salary from July and a bonus related to a contract extension.

The National Chamber for Dispute Resolution was scheduled to deliver a verdict on the matter but has postponed the decision. The ruling is now set for October 21, 2026. This delay follows an earlier scheduled date of October 14, 2026.

Sources within Rapid claim that the club has already settled all financial duties owed to Borza. However, the specific monetary amount requested by the midfielder in his lawsuit remains undisclosed in public reports.

This legal action adds to recent financial challenges for Rapid. The club lost a separate lawsuit in late September involving former head coach Costel Gâlcă and his staff members. These cases highlight ongoing litigation issues for the Bucharest-based side.

Borza left Rapid in the summer of 2026 to join Turkish outfit Çorum FK. The transfer fee was reported at 2.2 million euros. He signed a four-year contract with the Turkish club, which includes an option for an additional season.

Since moving to Turkey, Borza has made an immediate impact. He scored a goal in a 3-0 victory for Çorum FK against Eyupspor. This performance underscores his continued form after leaving Romanian football.

Rapid originally acquired Borza from Farul Constanța in the summer of 2023. The initial transfer fee was approximately 800,000 euros. During his time at Rapid, he made exactly 100 appearances for the team.

Statistical records regarding his contributions at Rapid vary slightly between sources. One report credits him with 3 goals and 9 assists, while another lists 3 goals and 7 assists. Transfermarkt currently values the player at 2.5 million euros.

Borza also earned international recognition during his tenure at Rapid. National team coach Gică Hagi gave him his debut in a friendly match against Georgia. He later featured for Romania in a heavy 0-6 defeat to Poland in Warsaw.

In the match against Poland, Borza entered the field in the 67th minute. He replaced Nicușor Bancu at a time when the scoreline was already 5-0. This appearance marked part of his developing international career.
