Jacek Góralski, an official at Wisła Płock, revealed that agents presented the opportunity to sign Renato Sanches after he began working as a scout for the club. The approach involved the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who has been without a club since early September.

Góralski noted that securing Sanches would have brought significant image value to the Polish Ekstraklasa. This assessment came despite acknowledgment of the player's recent lack of playing time at his previous clubs.

The 29-year-old midfielder has struggled with availability in recent seasons. Góralski observed that Sanches had barely played for his recent clubs, a factor that likely influenced the situation.

Sanches spent time on loan at Panathinaikos, where he recorded 1200 minutes on the pitch. During this spell, he missed 19 matches due to injury.

His loan period at Roma yielded only 260 minutes of playing time. He missed 23 matches during that tenure due to injuries.

Paris Saint-Germain terminated Sanches' contract on the final day of the transfer window. This move left him as a free agent prior to the approach to Wisła Płock.

Sanches joined Benfica on loan as part of the transfer deal for Joao Neves. The Portuguese midfielder moved to Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of 60 million euro.

Bayern Munich previously paid 35 million euro for Sanches. This transfer occurred after Portugal won Euro 2016.

Czesław Michniewicz commented on the broader context of such interest. He stated that if a player of Sanches' caliber is interested in Poland, it indicates a known defect within the league or national setup.
