Romanian referee Horațiu Feșnic has been appointed to officiate the upcoming Europa League match between Red Bull Salzburg and AC Milan. The game is scheduled for 15 October 2026 at 19:45 Romania time.
Feșnic will be assisted by fellow Romanians Alexandru Cerei and Alexandru Corb, who will serve as assistant referees. Florin Andrei has been named as the fourth official for the fixture.
The video assistant referee role will be filled by Cătălin Popa. Spanish official Carlos del Cerro Grande will serve as the assistant video assistant referee for the match.
This appointment follows the first round of the Europa League competition. In that round, RB Salzburg secured a 1-0 away victory against Levski in Sofia.
AC Milan experienced a different outcome in their opening match. The Italian side lost 0-2 at home to Benfica in the first round of the tournament.
Feșnic has recent experience officiating high-profile domestic matches in Romania. Earlier in 2026, he refereed the Romanian Cup match between Universitatea Craiova and FCSB.
That domestic fixture ended in a 2-2 draw. The match drew attention due to post-game comments from FCSB owner Gigi Becali.
Becali criticized Feșnic’s performance during the cup tie. He accused the referee of missing a handball by Luca Băsceanu before a goal was scored in the match.
