Korona Kielce have appointed Robert Kolendowicz as their new head coach. The club confirmed the hiring after parting ways with Jacek Zieliński earlier in the week. Kolendowicz has signed a contract that runs until the end of the current campaign. The agreement includes an option to extend the deal for two additional years.
The leadership change follows a heavy defeat for Korona Kielce against Lech Poznań. The club dismissed Jacek Zieliński on Monday, 2026-10-19, citing the poor result as the reason for his departure. This decision prompted the search for a replacement to lead the team for the remainder of the season.
Sports director Paweł Golański addressed rumors regarding other potential candidates during the selection process. He stated that the club did not contact Michał Probierz, Maciej Skorża, or Czesław Michniewicz for the role. Golański clarified that these names were not part of the active negotiations leading to Kolendowicz's appointment.
Golański also provided details on other coaches considered by the management. He confirmed that Korona Kielce viewed Pavol Staňo as a candidate for the position. However, the director noted that the club did not reach out to any foreign coaches during this recruitment phase.
Robert Kolendowicz is set to take charge of his first match soon. He is scheduled to make his debut as the Korona Kielce coach on Saturday. The team will face GKS Katowice in this upcoming fixture, which will serve as his first official game in charge.
In related news involving the upcoming opponent, GKS Katowice has seen a change in its coaching staff. Dawid Szwarga, who served as an assistant to Rafał Górak at the club, has left his position. Szwarga has departed to return to Raków Częstochowa.
