Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2:1 victory over previously unbeaten SC Freiburg in the sixth round of the Bundesliga. The win allowed Leverkusen to solidify their position in the table while handing Freiburg their first defeat of the campaign.

Patrik Schick was instrumental in the comeback. After falling behind early, the Czech forward received a pass from Moussa Diaby and executed a backheel assist to Ibrahim Maza for the equalizer. In the 76th minute, Schick scored the winner from close range after Maza returned the favor with a pass into the box.

The goal marked Schick's sixth of the season, placing him joint-top of the Bundesliga scoring charts alongside Niclas Füllkrug. By finding the net in this match, Schick became the first player in Bayer Leverkusen's history to score in each of the opening six games of a Bundesliga season.

This achievement places Schick in elite company, as he is only the third player in Bundesliga history to accomplish this feat, following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Robert Lewandowski. His current form has drawn praise from international observers, with Polish journalist Marcin Borzecki highlighting his technical quality and efficiency.

Spanish journalist José I. Araoz went further, labeling Schick the most underrated striker in Europe due to his game intelligence. Statistically, Schick ranks tenth in productivity across the top five European leagues with six goals and two assists. Advanced metrics also support his impact, as he leads all Bundesliga strikers with an xGOT value of 5.02.
