The football match between Sepsi and Dinamo on October 9 ended with a 0-2 scoreline but was marked by significant controversy. Referee Viorel Flueran interrupted the game in the 83rd minute due to anti-Hungarian chants from the stands. This stoppage highlighted ongoing tensions and disciplinary issues within the league.

In the aftermath of the match, Sfântu Gheorghe Mayor Antal Arpad and Miercurea Ciuc Mayor Korodi Attila issued strong criticisms. They directed their remarks at the Romanian Football Federation and its handling of the events. The mayors also addressed comments made by Dinamo president Andrei Nicolescu regarding the behavior of supporters from both clubs.

Mayor Antal Arpad stated that he had sent formal complaints to both the FRF and UEFA. These complaints concerned the discriminatory manifestations observed during the match. He requested that the relevant authorities enforce existing regulations to prevent such incidents in the future. His actions reflect a demand for stricter oversight of fan conduct.

Antal Arpad further claimed that he had repeatedly contacted FRF President Răzvan Burleanu about gallery behavior prior to this event. He alleged that he received no response to these previous communications. This lack of engagement reportedly contributed to the escalation of tensions leading up to the match interruption.

Dinamo president Andrei Nicolescu condemned the xenophobic chants made by his club's fans. However, he also alleged that Sepsi supporters provoked these reactions. Nicolescu claimed that the home fans sang the Szeklerland anthem before the match began. This assertion formed part of his defense regarding the conduct of the Dinamo supporters.

Mayor Korodi Attila emphasized the need for accountability when clubs fail to stop such incidents. He stated that coercive measures should be applied in these situations. He also called for sanctions against the individuals responsible for the disruptive behavior. His comments supported the call for stronger enforcement of safety and conduct rules.
