RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer described his team's 6-1 defeat against Bayern Munich on Saturday as a total failure in every respect. Speaking to Sky, Schäfer stated that Leipzig were hopeless in every area during the match, leading to the heavy result.

Head coach Martin Demichelis expressed shock at the manner of the loss during his return to Munich. While acknowledging that defeats at the Allianz Arena are possible, Demichelis deemed this specific outcome unacceptable. He indicated that the team must review its overall functioning and tactical approach both with and without the ball.

The result marked Leipzig's third consecutive heavy Bundesliga defeat to Bayern, following previous losses of 1-5 and 0-6. Captain Willi Orbán admitted that the squad failed to reach their performance limits or execute their pre-match plans effectively.

Demichelis emphasized that the team must apologize to the fans who traveled to Munich, stating that the performance was unworthy of the club and its supporters. The team now faces the task of quickly overcoming this defeat, as they are scheduled to play Real Madrid away in the Champions League on Wednesday.
