Farkas Balázs, a former four-time Hungarian international and one-time domestic champion, has become an owner of Eger SE. The change occurred after Med and Sport Bt. purchased Lend-Ball Beruházó és Szolgáltató Kft., the entity holding the football club, from Kertész József on October 1. Farkas Balázs is listed as one of the owners of the buying firm.
Farkas Balázs has been the managing director of Eger SE since November 2021. He retained his position at the top of Eger Labdarúgó Sport Kft. and Lend-Ball following the transaction. The capital of Med and Sport Bt., which is owned by Farkas Balázs and his family, was raised from 30,000 forints to 3 million forints during the process.
Eger SE currently competes in the NB III. The team holds the 11th position in the North-East group with 17 points collected over 13 rounds. The club started the championship with four victories but has secured only four points in its last five matches.
