Dinamo has officially extended the contract of striker George Pușcaș until June 30, 2029. The agreement was signed in mid-September, according to reports. The club confirmed the extension maintains his current financial terms while introducing new performance incentives.
Pușcaș earns a monthly salary of 20,000 euros, which is the highest in the squad. This figure is reported to remain unchanged under the new deal. Some sources indicate this salary level applies starting next season, while others state it is his current rate. The contract includes significant performance bonuses tied to his output on the pitch.
The striker will receive a 30,000 euro bonus if he reaches 15 goals or assists. This amount doubles if he achieves 20 goals or assists. He also earns 30,000 euros for making 10 starts. These clauses are designed to reward consistent availability and contribution to the team's attack.
Dinamo increased Pușcaș's release clause from 500,000 euros to 750,000 euros. This change reflects the club's long-term commitment to the player. It also raises the financial barrier for any potential suitors interested in acquiring his services before the contract expires in 2029.
The extension comes despite limited recent activity from the forward. Pușcaș played only eight matches for Dinamo, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His last appearance for the club was on May 16. He has not featured in any competitive matches this season due to medical issues.
Reports suggest the club rewarded Pușcaș for his loyalty and willingness to play through pain. Andrei Nicolescu stated that Dinamo forced the player to continue during the previous season's play-off despite his condition. Sources close to the player claim the contract extension acknowledges this sacrifice.
Pușcaș delayed urgent surgery for an inguinal hernia at the request of the coaching staff. Coach Željko Kopić reportedly asked him to postpone the procedure until the end of the last campaign. The player eventually underwent the operation during the competitive break.
Medical staff are optimistic about his recovery timeline. They expect Pușcaș to return to the field by the end of the calendar year. He started training with the ball last week, marking a step forward in his rehabilitation process.
Pușcaș has extensive experience in European football. He previously played for Inter Milan, Reading, Palermo, Bari, and Genoa. On the international stage, he has earned 46 caps for the Romanian national team.
