Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goal for Al-Nassr in a 3-1 victory over Neftchi Fargona in the Asian Champions League on Monday evening. The strike brought his total career goals to 981.

Ronaldo scored with a volley in the 42nd minute of the match. This goal leaves him 19 goals short of reaching the milestone of 1,000 career goals.

Ayman Yahya provided the assist for the goal. He deflected a cross from Sadio Mané towards Ronaldo. Yahya had entered the game in the 13th minute as a replacement for Kingsley Coman, who was injured.

Botirali Ergashev was the goalkeeper for Neftchi Fargona at the time Ronaldo scored. The match took place under unusual circumstances, as the start was delayed by approximately one hour.

The delay occurred because of a ballistic missile interception over Riyadh. Despite the late start, Al-Nassr secured the 3-1 win in the continental competition.

Ronaldo is currently 41 years old and has won five Ballon d'Or trophies during his career. His recent club performance comes amid developments with the Portugal national team.

Ronaldo left the Portugal camp during the Nations League after coach Jorge Jesus announced he would not play against Denmark. This decision followed earlier incidents involving the player.

The Portuguese Football Federation provisionally suspended Ronaldo following disciplinary proceedings. These proceedings were initiated on October 9, 2026, regarding incidents that took place on October 7.
