The professional registration periods

FIFA’s Slovenia snapshot lists 19 June to 7 September 2026 for the summer professional period and 16 January to 15 February 2027 for winter. The summer opening precedes the administrative July season boundary; those two dates describe different things.

The local detail that matters

Use the football association’s professional periods when following PrvaLiga moves. Other Slovenian sports also publish transfer calendars, and those are not evidence for football registration. For an outgoing player, establish the destination association and its deadline before assessing whether the deal can still be completed.

Agreed, signed and registered are different stages

A reported agreement describes negotiations; a club announcement confirms what that club has stated. Neither should automatically be described as clearance to play. For an international move, identify the receiving club and its association, the player’s professional status and whether the necessary registration has been confirmed. Exceptions require their own supporting rule; “free agent” is not enough on its own to establish eligibility.

Keep the football context in view

Read the latest transfer reporting alongside the league schedule. A signing can arrive after the campaign has started, while a player registered during winter may join before league fixtures resume. These pages cover football context for readers; the federation’s current decisions remain the operational reference for clubs.
