Olympiacos coach Alguacil targets sixth straight win against Sparta Prague

Olympiacos has completed its preparations for the upcoming Europa League fixture against Sparta Prague. Coach Imanol Alguacil used the final training sessions to test tactical setups ahead of the match. The Greek side enters the contest with momentum, having secured five consecutive wins across competitions.

The recent run of form includes a notable victory against domestic rivals Panathinaikos. The team also recorded an away win against Marseille in European competition. These results have placed Olympiacos in a strong position as they approach the next round of fixtures.

Despite the successful start to this phase, Alguacil stated that his goal is to achieve six consecutive wins. He emphasized the need to continue working hard rather than resting on the achievements of the previous five victories. The coach indicated that satisfaction with the current record is not an option for the squad.

Alguacil identified beating Sparta Prague as his current primary focus. He noted that this objective stands regardless of any implications for league or group rankings. The manager wants the team to maintain their intensity and concentration for the specific challenge posed by the Czech opponents.

The current stability contrasts with the beginning of Alguacil’s tenure at Olympiacos. His start at the club included a home defeat against OFI. This early setback preceded the current run of positive results that has defined the team's recent performances under his leadership.

Alguacil has limited experience coaching outside his home country prior to this role. His only previous stint abroad was in Saudi Arabia. That period was not long in duration, making his current project in Greece a significant chapter in his managerial career.
