The professional registration periods
FIFA’s Greece snapshot lists 1 July to 15 September 2026 for the summer professional period and 2 January to 5 February 2027 for winter. These periods extend beyond the familiar end-of-August and end-of-January shorthand used for some other European leagues.

The local detail that matters
The Hellenic Football Federation is the receiving association for a Greek club’s incoming international registration. A player leaving Greece instead needs the destination’s window checked. Older Greek transfer regulations and separate amateur provisions should not replace the professional season shown here.

Agreed, signed and registered are different stages
A reported agreement describes negotiations; a club announcement confirms what that club has stated. Neither should automatically be described as clearance to play. For an international move, identify the receiving club and its association, the player’s professional status and whether the necessary registration has been confirmed. Exceptions require their own supporting rule; “free agent” is not enough on its own to establish eligibility.
Keep the football context in view
Read the latest transfer reporting alongside the league schedule. A signing can arrive after the campaign has started, while a player registered during winter may join before league fixtures resume. These pages cover football context for readers; the federation’s current decisions remain the operational reference for clubs.
