Heracles manager Walter Mazzarri was reportedly ready to explode regarding officiating during the derby against PAOK at Toumba. The Italian coach appeared furious on the bench, particularly after the second goal for PAOK made the score 2-1.
Tensions peaked when a goal by Nanou was disallowed. Mazzarri made movements to leave the stadium at that moment. His assistants rushed to intervene and kept him in his position. Two goals were ultimately disallowed for Heracles in the match.
Mazzarri did not provide statements at the end of the match. Instead, his assistant Eugenio Sena spoke to the media. Sena stated that Mazzarri is extremely nervous and considering leaving Greece due to the events witnessed during the derby.
Sena claimed that in 45 years of career, Mazzarri had never been in such a state before. He reported that the manager has a desire to return to his home in Italy because of the situation in Greek football. Sena noted that such incidents had never been seen by the experienced coach before.
According to Sena, Mazzarri planned to speak with the club president the following day to decide on future moves. The assistant alleged that the team had lost seven points in three games due to perceived injustices in officiating.
