Digi Sport reported on October 8, 2026 that Sorin Bucuroaia had been appointed head coach at FC Păușești Otăsău in Liga 3. Bucuroaia returned to the club after working as an assistant to Marius Baciu at FCSB.
During an earlier period with FC Păușești Otăsău, Bucuroaia helped the club win promotion from Liga IV to Liga III. The club announcement cited his contribution to winning the county and regional stages of the Cup of Romania.
Bucuroaia and Baciu have worked together since 2019. Their collaboration has included Daco-Getica, Al-Taqadom, Al-Nahdah and Păușești-Otăsău, according to Digi Sport.
The appointment follows changes at FCSB. Baciu had left two weeks before Digi Sport’s October 8 report, with Laurențiu Reghecampf replacing him for a third term at the club.
At Baciu’s departure, FCSB were tenth in SuperLiga with 12 points after 10 rounds, nine points behind leaders Rapid. Digi Sport also reported ongoing contact between Baciu and clubs in the Moroccan and Cypriot top divisions. Those discussions were separate from Bucuroaia’s confirmed appointment in Liga 3.
